Digging Potency in A Thousand Temple Country

Thailand which had a thousand temple was amazing country, especially in Chiang Rai. Chiang Rai is one of district in Northern part of Thailand. It was very beautiful place with a lot of awesome beautiful place. There are many temple with unique architecture and good interior design. The road was quite silence and it was nice to drive safely there. Khon Thai or people of Thailand have a good taste in landscape architecture. It had been proved in Mae Fah Luang University (MFU), campus where I did research and joined exchange student through ASEAN International Mobility for Student (AIMS) program. This program was conducted by Directorat of Higher Education of Repulic of Indonesia. MFU have very beautiful garden and they always maintained the garden routine.

Beside of the awesome place, people in Thailand was very kind. One thing that I learned through Introduction of Thai Culture, one course I took in MFU, Khon Thai used smile to express all of emotion. When they happy, sad, mad, bored, confused, they will smile. Smile was one alternative if you cannot understand or answer what they try to speak on you. It was great to bargain some goods in market also. When i have difficulties to communicate with security, cleaning service, or people who can not understand english, smile is a good choice to be polite and answer their question. But we should worried also if someone smile in bad condition like mourning period. We should appreciate on them.

It was like my dreams come through for a second time after I got scholarship. Joining exchange program is one of two main purpose why I study in my campus. I tried to join this program twice and for the first tried i was failed. But it is okey because i had more time to enhancing my knowledge and skill to join again in the next period. Thailand was my destination to did this program caused I can did the research in Thailand. Only in MFU that provide research roject instead courses. Hard working proved that in second chance you can take what people better than you took before. It was like an idioms which said that kept training and never gave up until your idol became your friend. Yeah and I think it was right.

Living in Thailand was not as hard as I think before as a moslem. Moslem was minority in Thailand especially Chiang Rai. But Khon Thai was very tolerance with diversity. We could prayed every where as long as not disturb another people. They would not hated us, because it was very normal in Thailand. But as a moslem we should tolerated also in their religion which was Budhism. I also visit some temple and appreciate with the architecture. Temple in Thailand was so amazing and I like how they designed their temple. Halal food also excisted in MFU eventhough only one in every canteen, but the food was very nice also. Khon Thai like sour, sweet, and hot flavor and they used to mix it together. But i still can eat it.

Doing research abroad with not commonly people used english as a major language was a challenge for me. I should learned how to speak Thai for daily conversation such as greeting, bargaining, and asking for help. It was really nice remembered that Thai language accsent was very unique. Someday we should followed their accsent and the intonation absolutly, because different intonation different meaning. Khon Thai have a good some habit that I learned. They like to obey the regulation such as queuing and throwing garbage in basket. Thai people aslo like night market and bazaar. Some institution will held night market once per week. But good thing from this program was the seller must cleaned the place after they finished selling product. So, the day after market condition of the place will be clean like before night market. They must take a responsibility in every decision.

This was one of amazing experience of me to join AIMS program in Thailand. I can learn good habit from this country and also improve my english fluency. I won’t forget what i did in this country and someday i will come back again to this beautiful, amazing, and very warm country. Thanks for the smile and happines of living in Thailand. Thanks for gimme a chance also to join this program. And hopefully this article can persuade student in Indonesia to keep learn, try, and never give up to reach what did you dream. There is no impossible thing as long as we try and believe. Our God is bigger than our problem.
